Style Study - Alien in the Foster's Home

A college assignmento on character design, we were supposed to choose a style from one of the three animations presented in class (Teen Titans GO, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy) and choose an existent character to make in the chosen style. I chose the Foster's Family and tried to make the xenomorph as if it had been something of a kid's imagination.

I incorporated simpler shapes and a two-color pallette, based on the art style, along with the lines being in pencil texture. Some parts of the alien are painted a different color, to simulate how sometimes, when we were kids, we accidentally picked up the wrong color out of focus and painted it a different color than we were intending to. The background of the illustration is also based on the cartoon’s style.
